As it was my winter holidays, my family and I decided to visit the Keoladeo Ghana National Park, Bharatpur to see the beautiful and colorful migratory birds that were reportedly present in the bird sanctuary. The journey was roughly of 3 hours drive by car, which also was a respite from an year long stay at home.

We started the journey on the 24th December at 7:00A.M. While travelling we took some breakfast and ate some snacks in a dhaba on the highway. At 10 AM we reached the national park and parked the car and went to take the tickets. The manager told the instructions, we hired a guide and started to see the sanctuary on a cycle rickshaw. Before the journey we knew some birds that will be seen like flamingo, stark etc. But there were a lot of beautiful birds whose names I didn't knew. There was a guide with us who told us about the environment and the nature of birds. The birds we saw were owls, many types of ducks, stork, flamingo, purple heron, etc. And we saw birds in water also by boating. Also saw fishes, water snakes, Neel Gai, yellow ducks and purple heron, kingfisher and especially Dcuk billed platypus on the trees and on the water bed. We also saw some antelopes. And snakes body, deer horn and many more interesting things. We also learnt their habits. We clicked some images of some birds also. We stayed almost 4 hours there and then decided to move on to home. We came back home in 3 to 4 hours from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.

I must recommend visiting this park especially in winters because most birds usually come in the winter season from colder climates like Siberia.
